Self Care for 2020

There are so many different factors when thinking your ideal health care routine. We are bombarded daily with conflicting news studies and guidelines telling us what we should and should not do. What we should eat today is what we should stay away from tomorrow. It is all very confusing… even to me who has been trained in healthcare! To narrow the conversation down a bit as it pertains to my world, there are three key factors that I stress to my patients when it comes to keeping the body functioning at its best: Chiropractic adjustments, massage therapy, and CBD oil.

Chiropractic Care

The first key to optimizing your health care should always start with chiropractic adjustments. The brain is our master controller and it needs to have a direct line to the rest of the body via the nervous system for peak performance. When you have a spinal misalignment (a.k.a. subluxation) it can cause static on the line so to speak… Interrupting the flow of information from the brain going out to the body, as well as the information gathered from the environment being sent back to the brain for processing. When there is an interruption in that chain of information, that is when the body starts failing. Regular chiropractic treatments on a monthly basis can prevent “rust from building up in the hinges” if you know what I mean. Keeping motion in the joints, removing pressure from the nerves, keeps the body moving and the messages flowing!

Massage Therapy

The second key to optimizing your health care should include monthly massage therapy. We already talked about the importance of a having a clear line of communication from the brain to the rest of the body, but the muscles play an equally important role when it comes to supporting the body’s motion which is the whole goal with chiropractic care. Movement is life. Without movement, the body becomes stagnant, allowing disease processes to begin in the joints which then eventually impacts all systems in the body. Massage therapy from a licensed massage therapist helps keep the muscles elongated and allows the body to glide through its daily motions!


The third key to optimizing your health care/self-care routine should include a daily dose of CBD oil. We just now learning about all of the incredible impacts that CBD has on INFLAMMATION in the body (as well as many many other issues). New reports and studies are coming out almost daily talking about the potential health benefits of incorporating CBD into your daily routine. The best advice I can give is DO NOT GO TO A VAPE STORE FOR YOUR HEALTHCARE NEEDS. If you are interested in exploring what CBD can do for you, I strongly recommend talking to someone in healthcare that knows about the product you are interested in as well as questions regarding dosage for your particular condition.
